MetaPhase was founded on August 13, 2013 by Fred Costa and Brett McLaren with a clear intention: be different and deliver where it matters most.
Fred and Brett's journey started long before MetaPhase. They met on a USDA client engagement in the early 2000s, where they quickly became friends, united by a shared belief that there was a better way to serve the mission. Over the years, they stayed connected, exchanging ideas, challenging each other, and building trust.
In 2013, they made the decision to turn that shared belief into action. Working out of Fred's house, they launched MetaPhase on August 13, 2013, transforming years of perspective into a company built on ownership, execution, and doing the right thing.
From the beginning, MetaPhase was built around a simple idea: real impact comes from aligning people, technology, and execution, not just delivering recommendations. That belief drove early momentum.
Within the first year, MetaPhase expanded into new agencies and began building long-term partnerships across the federal landscape. Growth was intentional, bringing in professionals who take ownership, move with purpose, and deliver under pressure.
What started as management consulting evolved into a technology-driven company, integrating mission and technology to solve complex challenges across National Security and Federal Civilian markets.
