Last year's interns worked as a consulting team to respond to a federal-style challenge, design an AI-enabled concept, and deliver a final presentation to MetaPhase leadership. Their project, Protect Trade, focused on reducing counterfeit goods risk through AI-assisted inspection workflows.

The internship experience mirrors how we operate in client environments: structured delivery, practical problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and clear executive communication.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this internship for?

Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors — students graduating between 2027 and 2029 — from any major. We are looking for people with a passion for technology, AI, and public service who are ready to learn fast and work as a team.

What will I do?

You will work through the full lifecycle of a federal IT project — from proposal to launch — using cutting-edge AI tools, agent-assisted development, computer vision, and machine learning. We build our own tools at MetaPhase, and you will get hands-on experience with them. At the end, you present your finished product directly to executive leadership, just like a real contract delivery.

Where is it?

In-person at MetaPhase headquarters, four days per week: 11911 Freedom Dr, Suite 1010, Reston, VA 20190.

When does it run?

Monday, June 1 through Friday, August 7, 2026 — ten weeks.

How is it structured?

This is a paid internship. Interns work as a consulting team through every phase of a federal contract scenario — proposal, design, build, and launch. You collaborate cross-functionally, solve mission-focused problems, and deliver a final presentation to MetaPhase leadership, just like a real project team.

Why MetaPhase?

Because most internships give you a lanyard and a lunch talk. This one gives you AI tools, a real project, and a room full of executives waiting to see what you built. You will leave with actual experience shipping technology for federal missions — and stories way better than "I shadowed someone for eight weeks."
